Say what the video needs to do.
“We need a video” isn't a goal yet. Should someone understand a new product, discover a feature, or get a first impression of your brand? Pick one main job to start with. Other goals can follow, as long as they don't get in its way.
A sentence like “After watching, people should understand how our app connects finding a ticket with getting into the event” gives us much more to work with than “modern and dynamic.”
Show what supports the claim.
A film becomes more convincing when its message has something visible behind it. For an app, that might be a real sequence in the interface. For a physical product, it could be a shape, a material or the way someone uses it.
Note the two or three details that must not be missed. A video doesn't need to show every feature. It should make the main point easy to follow.
Name the audience and the placement.
A product page, a pitch and an ad give a film different jobs. Tell me who's watching and where it will appear. That helps set the opening, pace, amount of text and format.
If the same idea needs to work in several places, mention that early. Shorter cuts can grow from the main film, especially when they're considered from the start.
Gather what exists and what's fixed.
Product images, UI files, screen recordings, existing footage, logos, colours and approved copy can all save time. They don't need to be perfectly organised yet. A link or folder is enough for a first look.
Also tell me what can't change: an unfinished feature, an approval you don't have yet, brand rules or a fixed deadline. Those constraints belong in the plan, not in the final revision round.
Give the scope and budget some shape.
You don't need an exact runtime. It's more useful to know whether you need a short clip for one idea or a film that explains several steps. Add the formats you need, the timing and a realistic budget range.
With that, I can suggest a format that suits the job, see what the existing material makes possible and identify any extra work. You'll have a clear quote before production begins.
We're building an event-ticket app. The video should show how someone finds an event, books and uses their ticket at the door. It will live on the product page and perhaps in short ads later. We have UI files and brand assets. The launch is in November; the budget is roughly 600–1,000 €.
That's enough for a useful first reply. We can work through what's still open together.
